I’ve been working as a professional photographer for nearly 20 years. I established Focus61 to bring together my two passions – photography and teaching. Now based in Beckenham, South London but working worldwide. I am motivated by capturing memorable images of the people and places that interest and inspire me from London’s East End to the Middle East and Africa. In April 2016, I travelled to Lebanon to work with the charity, ANERA, to document the work they do in the Palestinian and Syrian camps there. At the end of 2016, I continued my work with them in the towns of Ramallah and Jericho in The West Bank. In May 2017, I returned to Lebanon to work with ANERA staff and partners in the far South of the country.
My photographs have been published internationally, including the Independent, Guardian and Telegraph. My work has featured in the British Journal of Photography and the National Union of Journalists’ Excellence in Photography exhibitions. Personal exhibitions have included:
I have a wide range of contacts, from designers to writers and publishers. I am happy to provide packages to meet clients requirements. Whatever your needs, whether a wedding shoot, an event or International documentary images, you will be provided with photographs of the highest quality.
I produce distinct high quality images tailored to clients’ specifications.
I can turn around photographs in real-time on site when they are needed for online channels or media.
My approach is personal and relaxed. The best images result from working with people who feel genuinely at ease.
I am very experienced in photographing VIPs (including members of the Royal Family) and celebrities, with a professional and non-intrusive approach at major events.
Paying close attention to your personal brief, I produce both formal and natural unposed photographs that genuinely capture the emotion and events of the day – from the preparations to the celebrations going on into the evening.
I specialise in photography for the public and charity sectors; with people living and working in some of the most difficult circumstances in the UK and around the world.
I can travel at short notice. My international photography includes projects in Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Palestine and Lebanon.
I regularly photograph children including commissions for the NHS and schools, and arrange the consent forms needed when working with under 18’s.
I’m security cleared to photograph the most senior government ministers and other VIPs.
If you are a photographer interested in photography tuition from beginners to advanced, one-to-one or group sessions, please get in touch. You can find details of the courses I am currently running for beginners in East London here, and my London night photography courses here.
I’m happy to discuss quotes for any job. My costs are very competitive and reflect what’s needed for the particular commission. They are all-inclusive with no hidden extras for items like additional disks (which other photographers often charge for).
